Stefanie Senior is a sound designer/engineer/cat mom/whiskey drinker based in Chicago. Her work has been heard at theatres across the city, as well as Milwaukee Rep, Pittsburgh City Theatre, People’s Light, and Trinity Rep.

Stefanie got her start at age 5 acting in plays, and has been in love with theatre ever since. Besides acting, Stef has hung and focused lights, crafted and repaired costumes, built and painted sets, and even tried her hand at directing before landing on sound design, but knowing a little bit about everything has made her a better designer and theatre practitioner.

Stefanie prides herself on her collaboration, her problem-solving skills, and her attention to the details of a show. They are a firm believer that a good process yields a good product, and thoroughly enjoys working with other designers to build magical theatrical moments. She loves the way sound can influence and manipulate emotions; she especially loves to design thrillers/horrors and comedies, as both require precision and nuance.

When she’s not in a theatre, she’s definitely hanging out with her cat, Tybalt, reading gothic horror novels, singing showtunes, or trying to find the best Old Fashioned in whatever city she’s in.
