TSDCA networking event during AES week and discount code to hear THE ROSE TATTOO on Broadway:

TSDCA is planning a casual early evening gathering on Saturday 10/19 at 4:30pm after AES after the matinee performance.  You don’t have to attend the performance to be a part of this event, but if you would like to hear the show, use the discount code TRTAES2019 which is valid through 10/28.

In addition to catching up with soundies who may be in town for AES, we will have a discussion centered around the sound design for THE ROSE TATTOO which is presently running on Broadway at the American Airlines Theatre.  On hand will be Fitz Patton, sound designer and his associates/system design team, Brad Ward and Sunny Kil. Fitz and his team won the 2019 Tony award for best sound design for their work on CHOIR BOY.

Also on hand for the discussion and to answer any questions will be Dave Haydon from Outboard who provided the TiMax Sound Hub which was the core of Brad and Sunny’s system design which provided spatial reinforcement for Fitz’s music and sounds, vocal localization for the actors, and 95% of the system processing.

Fitz Patton is Tony and Drama Desk award winning sound designer in NYC.  In addition to freelance system design, Brad Ward is a Senior Associate at Auerbach Pollock Friedlander where he designs systems for theatres and themed entertainment around the world, and Sunny Kil is Assistant Professor of Sound Design at SUNY New Paltz where she is helping train the next generation of sound professionals.

TiMax is a leader in immersive Spatial Reinforcement and stage tracking for vocal localisation, delivering unparalleled realism, flexibility and reliability to premium live performances, built on a proprietary dynamic delay-matrix spatial audio processor and software platform.

In addition, we will discuss the system in general which was comprised largely of Meyer, K-Array, and Yamaha equipment, and we hope to have representatives available as well to be a part of the discussion.

We are still working out where we will meet, but it will be somewhere in the American Airlines Theatre or within walking distance.

RSVP not necessary, but if you think you can make it, email Brad (info@bradward.net) so we have an idea of how many to plan for, and we will be sure to let you know where to meet.
